Republicans Maskowitz and Musich Running Together for Township Committee

Deputy Mayor Jordan Maskowitz will be seeking re-election alongside Mary Ann Musich, a WMUA commissioner.

Deputy Mayor Jordan Maskowitz and Mary Ann Musich will be running together this Novemebr for three year-terms on the Manalapan Township Committee, the Manalapan Township Republican Party announced. Both candidates were unanimously endorsed by the Manalapan Republican County Committee at their meeting on March 9.

Maskowitz’s current three-year term on the Township Committee ends Dec. 31. The other vacant seat on the Committee, which Musich wants to fill, will be left by Committeeman Andrew Lucas. Lucas’ term also ends on Dec. 31 and he chose not to run for re-election.

“I’m looking forward to running for re-election to the Township Committee this fall, and I’m honored that both Mary Ann Musich and I have the full support of the Manalapan Republican Party,” Maskowitz said a the release issued by the Manalapan Republican Committee.

A resident of Manalapan for 21 years, Maskowitz was first elected to the Township Committee in 2010. On the Township Committee Maskowitz served as the liaison to the Recreation Department and Police Department as public safety liaison and Police Commissioner. His knowledge of these areas comes from being a retired Lieutenant from the New Jersey State Police where he served for over 25 years and volunteering for the Manalapan Soccer Club and other youth sports organizations in Manalapan.

Maskowitz is an active member and past president of the Yorktowne Club. He chairs the annual “Walk with Joe” fundraiser every September which remembers Patrick “Joe” Driscoll, a Yorktowne club member who died in Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001. The fundraiser has raised over $250,000 for local charities over the past eleven years.

“I’m proud of my record on the Township Committee, and I’m ready to face the challenges that lie ahead,” Maskowitz said. “I know that Mary Ann Musich and I can get the job done for our community.”

Musich has been a Manalapan resident for 29 years. She currently serves on the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority (WMUA) as a Commissioner, a position she was appointed to last year. Musich has previously served on the Manalapan Township Zoning Board of Adjustment for over 15 years and even served as Chairperson.  Musich is retired from a 20 year career in municipal government working for the East Brunswick Sewage Authority.
 
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to run for the Manalapan Township Committee,” Musich stated in the release. “I’m looking forward to working on behalf of our residents, so that we can control spending while maintaining the services that make Manalapan a great place to live.”
