Unofficial Primary Results for Manalapan and Englishtown

Both parties for Township Council have extremely close races.

Monmouth County has released the unofficial results from the primary election which took place yesterday, June 7. 

In Manalapan Township, there are two open seats on the Township Committee. Yesterday, Republicans Susan Cohen and Donald Holland fought for the primary ticket. With a total of only 486 votes, Cohen received 238 votes, or 48.97 percent and Holland received 241 votes at 49.59 percent. There were seven write-in's, calculating 1.44 percent. 

On the Democratic side, 435 votes were cast with no write-ins. Democrats Michelle Roth and Seth Ptasiewicz ran for the seat. Roth received 217 votes at 48.89 percent and Ptasiewicz received 218 votes at 50.11 percent.

In the Borough of Englishtown, Republican Mayor Thomas E. Reynolds ran unopposed and won the ticket as there were no write-ins. Republicans Cecilia Robilotti and Rudolph Rucker also won their tickets, although there were two Democratic write-ins for the seat. Robilotti received 33 votes at 47.83 percent and Rucker received 32 votes at 46.38 percent. There were 4 Republican write-ins, taking up 5.8 percent of the 69 total votes. 

Keep in mind that these results are unofficial, no winner can be announced until all mail-in ballots are received and reviewed.
