Clark Mills School March Highlights

Check out the school's highlights from March 2013.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

Doodle 4 Google Contest

Students in all grades participated in the Doodle 4 Google 2013 design contest. Google does a contest for children each year to design a new logo for their website. Each year they have a different theme, and this year it was, "My Best Day Ever...” This year, we had 85 entries, and the top 10 students had their artwork sent to Google to be entered into the state contest. All of the designs were fantastic, and it was really hard to decide who had the top 10 designs! Winners received a certificate and a large set of markers. We also honored five honorable mention students with a certificate. Let's wish them luck in moving to the next round of the contest! Hopefully we will see their artwork on the Google website. A big thank you to our art teacher, Mr. Nortman for organizing the contest!

“Clark of Ages” Talent Show

Students had the opportunity to showcase their talents by performing in our Annual Talent Show, Clark of Ages, based around an 80’s theme. Students and teachers enjoyed the variety of acts and the 80’s music! A big thank you goes out to our parent volunteers and our creative teachers, Mrs. Monica Fiorentino and Mrs. Tobio, for their leadership in working with the children and on a job very well done.

March is Reading Month at Clark Mills

The Clark Mills School Principal, Mrs. Orlando and Assistant Principal, Mrs. Gent, challenged the students at Clark Mills School to read 4, 000 books in the month of March! By March 21, 2013, the students exceeded the goal and read over 5, 000 books! In turn, Mrs. Orlando and Mrs. Gent will be dressing up as clowns, a stunt chosen by the students for reaching their goal! The students are anxiously waiting for the big day, April 2nd! Mrs. Orlando and Mrs. Gent, along with the Clark Mills faculty, are thrilled that the students are spending their free time reading!
