County Superintendent's Office Moving to Freehold

Move to county-owned building will save taxpayers $170,926 a year

In less than a week, the Monmouth County Schools Superintendent’s Office will be moving from its rented space in Neptune to a county-owned building in Freehold, ultimately saving taxpayers $170,926 a year, according an Asbury Park Press report.

The county superintendent’s office has operated out of a rented workplace and the move will be a “significant savings,” Deputy Director of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders told APP.

Although the county’s superintendent’s office functions under the state Department of Education, which compensates the professional staff, the county pays for support staff and the office, the report said.

The county continuously re-evaluates space and less room is needed as professional staffs shrink by attrition, APP reported. The Monmouth County office currently has three professional and six support staff members.

Starting Monday, June 24, the office will be located at 4000 Kozloski Road in Freehold.
