John I. Dawes Early Learning Center May highlights.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

Character Education

  • Follow the rules.
  • Respect people in charge.
  • Do not litter.

Posters of Cindy the Citizen Crab and the list of caring traits are hung around the school. All staff members are reinforcing this trait, and the students are so excited to wear the paw print stickers they receive when they are caught demonstrating care.

In addition, we are continuing to highlight our Bus Line of the Week winners and our monthly Caught Being Kind winners. These students are noted in Mrs. Young’s monthly newsletter. We are so proud of the children!

May Activities

May was a busy month at the Early Learning Center! Our kindergarteners were treated to a fun and informative assembly about taking care of the environment. I thank Manalapan Township for providing this terrific assembly. The PTA also sponsored a musical assembly by the Lil’ Rockers for all of the children. The children really enjoyed the performance.

The PTA also hosted Fun Day. It was a wonderful event for the entire school. Monthly birthday celebrations were held as well, and school spirit days continued.
