Fire Alarm Goes Off at Clark MIlls, ELC Campus

Morning kindergarten and preschool buses will be delayed; afternoon kindergarten and preschool has been canceled.

A fire alarm went off at Clark Mills School and the John I. Dawes Early Learning Center late this morning, according to a statement issued by Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Superintendent John J. Marciante.

The children were evacuated to Milford Brook School safely, Marciante said. Buses for children returning home from morning kindergarten and pre-school will be delayed, however.

Additionally, Marciante said that afternoon kindergarten and pre-school will be canceled today because it was unknown when the schools could be re-entered.

The Manalapan Fire Company #1 has cleared the buildings and all of the full time students of Clark Mills School and the Early Learning Center will be returning to the buildings.

I was very happy to see that the children returned to Clark Mills safely and that Mrs. Orlando handled everything so professionally. Unfortunately the Assisant Superintendent Dr. Munroe was anything but professional. Shame on her for speaking to parents the way she did. After what I experienced today, I think parents in Manalspan have to pay more attention to who is making decisions for the safety and security of our children.
