HS District Eighth Grade Orientation Program Scheduled for January

Future Class of 2016, and their parents, learn about their high school.

This January, the will be hosting Eighth Grade Orientation for current eighth grade students and their parents at each high school.

The Orientation Program is meant to familiarize the students and parents with the high school they will be attending the following year. Course registration, academic offerings, educational and extra-curricular activities and the mission and philosophy of the school will all be covered.

Parents are encouraged to attend and ask questions about the high schools and what they have to offer.

All orientations will take place in the auditorium of the respective high school.

  • Howell High School, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.
  • , Jan. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
  • (for Intermediate School Students), Jan. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Freehold High School (for Eisenhower Students), Jan. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

At the same time, a Special Education Orientation will be offered. Parents of special education students will meet the Special Education Supervisor at each high school and learn more about the specific programs each high school provides.

Each Special Education Orientation Program will take place in the Media Center of each respective high school.

Each high school within the Freehold Regional High School District offers the same curriculum for all academic subjects. However, there are six specialized Learning Centers available where ambitious and talented students from the sending schools in the district can apply:

  • Business Administration at Marlboro High School
  • Humanities at Howell High School
  • Global Issues at Freehold Township High School
  • Medical Sciences at Freehold High School
  • Science and Engineering at Manalapan High School
  • Law and Public Service at Colts Neck High School.

Additionally, FRHSD offers:

  • Culinary Arts/Hospitality Management Academy and a Computer Science Academy at Freehold High School
  • Fine and Performing Arts Academy at Howell High School
  • Navy JROTC Character and Leadership Development Academy at Colts Neck High School
  • Automotive Technology and Law Enforcement and Public Safety Academies at Manalapan High School
  • Animal and Botanical Sciences Academy at Freehold Township High School
