Jayme Orlando Named Principal of Clark Mills School

The Assistant Principal of Wemrock Brook School was promoted during Tuesday's BOE meeting.

During last night’s meeting, the Manalapan-Englishtown Board of Education promoted Jayme Orlando, an assistant principal at Wemrock Brook School, and named her principal at Clark Mills School. Orlando was unanimously approved by the seven board members present for the meeting, which took place in the library of Wemrock Brook School.

Following the vote, the Board of Education, Superintendent John J. Marciante Jr., and Assistant Superintendent Joanne Monroe all provided a warm round of applause. The principal at Wemrock Brook School, Jacqueline Martin, also attended the meeting and congratulated her colleague.

According to the News Transcript, Orlando studied elementary education at the University of Maryland, and went on to earn her master’s degree in educational administration and supervision from New Jersey City University.

Orlando has worked for the Manalapan-Englishtown school district as a supervisor since 2003, when she started as an administrative intern in Pine Brook School. In 2005, she was named Assistant Principal at Wemrock Brook School. With last night's promotion, Orlando will take the place of Clark Mills interim principal Joseph Polinski.

“So I’m going to Clark right now and won’t sleep for the next six months,” joked Orlando. She added that she is thrilled and thanked the Board of Education for their approval.

Orlando’s promotion is effective July 1.
