Lafayette Mills School September Highlights

A compilation of the school's highlights from September.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

First Grade and New Student Orientation

Incoming first graders and their parents met their new teachers and were acquainted with the layout of the building via a guided tour on Wednesday, Sept. 5. A separate new student orientation followed the first grade program.

Instrumental Music Assembly

Mr. Geltch and Ms. Sadanand conducted an assembly for all fourth graders and new fifth grade students to introduce students to the program and the selection of instruments available for lessons. As a result, our instrumental music program is continuing to thrive. 

PTA/IPM Meeting

Our first PTA meeting was held on Sept. 12. Our Integrated Pest Management program was explained to the parents in attendance.

Character Education

Mrs. Pepchinski and Mrs. Barrett conducted lessons in each classroom throughout the month of September. The purpose of the lessons was to reinforce and promote good character and to educate students on strategies that would help them mediate conflicts and prevent bullying.

Pearl Observatory

The Pearl Observatory Program began September 25th with Shark Attack.
