Manalapan HS Principal Replaced While Under Administrative Investigation

Principal Jeff Simon has been replaced by FRHSD Human Resources Administrative Supervisor Jennifer Sharp.

Principal Jeff Simon has been replaced today due to an ongoing administrative investgation regarding assorted school matters which do not involve students, according to a press release issued by Communications and District Projects Coordinator Nakell Williams.

The Freehold Regional High School District made these administrative changes "in the interest of the students," the release said.

Jennifer Sharp, the Human Resources Administrative Supervisor will serve as Acting Principal in Simon's place, and Adam Angelozzi will replace Manalapan High School Assistant Principal Thomas Gallahue, who has been temporarily assigned the Assistant Principal position at Freehold Township High School.

Originally, both Gallahue and Angelozzi were Assistant Principals at Manalapan High School and Freehold Township High School, respectively. This administrative change has them switching positions.

The release said that parents and guardians will be notified in writing about this administrative reorganization, which will verify that no disruption to the operations of the schools will occur.

Thomas Gallahue has declined to comment on the administrative reorganization  and referred all questions to Williams.

"The changes were necessary as a result of the investigation that's pending," Williams said. She went on to confirm that Simon is on a paid administrative leave from the district and, therefore, the administrative changes were made as a result.

Williams is not aware of the details of the investigation, but said that the investigation is ongoing and no additional information can be provided to the public.

They are all one big happy family up there in Freehold. All the jobs all the money all in the family.

If I remember reading in the Asbury Park Press, The Freehold Regional High School District is known as the epicenter of academic fraud. This stems from the phony doctorate degrees administrators have received from the internet--then parlayed them into bigger paychecks for themselves. Could this be more academic fraud???

Sounds to me like more school board politics as usual but this time on steroids! Jeff Simon has done wonders for that school and deserves every opportunity to clear his name and return to serving our kids.

My child came home yesterday and shared with me the rumors about why he was hauled off during a first period lock down yesterday. Amazingly, she showed me facebook pictures of a female student with him in his office posing, smiling and the student sitting at his desk with his walkie-talkie in her hand...Unbelievably stupid on his part. Why am I paying this guy 150K/year?

This is the district that keeps giving adminstrators pay raises--even in tough economic times--but yet cuts out the Kuhnert Basketball Tournament, due to lack of funds. So..it's for the kids...yeah right!!!

Agree with Mr. Mabe...Both my daughters graduated with Mr. Simon as their principal. He could not have been a better principal to them, and we are forever grateful. I know so many parents who felt the same way through these past 5 years. We are hoping and praying that whatever he is being investigated for turns out to not be true.

I have two children curently in MHS and one who graduated two years ago. I find it interesting that some people on this board are able to express an opinion either in favor or against Mr. Simon without knowing the facts. When the reasons for his dismissal are published, we will be able to determine whether its a deserved fate or a witch hunt. Untik then, I sugest everyone relax.

Mr Simon is a good man. He is only interested in making sure the students at MHS work ton the best of their ability. He is amazing! I hope his name is cleared ASAP. I know I will be there supporting him.

I don't think there would be a full investigation on Jeff Simon if it weren't warranted. I know they did their investigating before the arrest....... why waste people's taxpayers money and give a horrible name to Manalapan.... Jeff Simon's arrest WAS warranted Go get a job
