The community certainly displayed a tremendous amount of giving this holiday season. Several community service projects were underway during the month of December. Ms. Hecht’s annual Books for Kids Drive benefitted Manalapan-Englishtown families serviced through the Samaritan Center. Students donated hundreds of toys, gift cards, games and clothes during our annual “Giving Tree”. The Milford Brook staff adopted over 13 Manalapan-Englishtown families and supplied gifts and food to residents in need. Mrs. Fisher’s fourth graders raised over $800.00 by sponsoring an afternoon BINGO event for 3rd through 5th grade students in order to adopt two local families for the holidays. The fourth graders created shopping lists and budgets before hitting Target in Manalapan to grant holiday wishes and practice important mathematical skills!

PTA Holiday Gift Fair

Students had the opportunity to practice using their math skills of adding, subtracting and estimating while making purchases at the annual Holiday Gift Fair.
Thank you to the many parent volunteers who assisted our students in making the perfect selections for that special someone in their lives.

On Friday, Dec. 9 our first grade students packed their bags and headed for a trip around the world learning about holiday customs, traditions and foods from countries such as France, Sweden, Italy, China and Mexico. Each class researched a
country and prepared mini-lessons, complete with costumes, to share with their peers during this year’s “Holidays around the World.” Passports documented their travels and suitcases were overstuffed with mementos and trinkets.

Showcasing our Vocal and Instrumental Arts Programs

Our talented vocalists and musicians performed for the school community and their families during the Intermediate Band and Orchestra Concert on Dec. 12 as well as the Winter Choir Concert on Dec. 19 Milford Brook fourth and fifth graders certainly set the mood for the holiday season with beautiful renditions of some classic songs such as “Silver Bells, The Dreidel Song and Frosty the Snowman.” Mr. Geltch, Mrs. Blick and Mrs. Magenheim did an outstanding job of preparing our students for their performances. Congratulations to all on a job well done!
