Milford Brook School Principal Removed from District

The superintendent announced the termination of Tyler Blackmore on Friday.

Principal Tyler Blackmore of Milford Brook School has been removed from his position in the district, Superintendent John J. Marciante announced Friday. The reason for the termination is kept under-wraps, however, as the matter is a confidential personnel issue. Former principal and district teacher Jacqui Martin will become the Interim Principal.

Here is the full statement released by Marciante on Friday:

"Over the last several days, due to circumstances outside of the control of the district, I have been forced to release Mr. Tyler Blackmore from his position as principal of Milford Brook School. I recognize that this is upsetting for the parents, staff and children of the Milford Brook community.  There is a strong desire to find out why this has happened.  Please understand that since this is a personnel matter, the district is required to maintain confidentiality.

"What is important at this time is doing what is necessary to ensure that the disruption to the education of the children who attend Milford Brook School is minimized. Ms. Jacqui Martin, a former principal and teacher in the district, has agreed to take on the role of Interim Principal. She will be there to assist Mr. Kivor, the teachers, and the support staff of Milford Brook School in the opening of the building on September 9th. The Board of Education and the Human Resource Department have already begun the process of looking for a permanent replacement for Mr. Blackmore. As in the past, all stakeholders, including representatives of the teaching staff and parents in the community, will be part of the process. At this time, I ask for your patience and understanding as we move forward."

Blackmore previously resigned from Matawan-Aberdeen Middle School in April 2012, citing personal reasons.
