Pine Brook Student Council Responsible for 89 Blood Donations

Two students were recognized for their hard work recruiting donors.

The Pine Brook School Council hosted their third annual blood drive on Thursday, Feb. 7 with the help of the Central Jersey Blood Center. Eighty-nine units of blood were collected from over 100 people.

Students Thomas Bruno and Thomas Bray were appointed Principal and Assistant Principal of the Day on Tuesday, Feb. 12 for all of their hard work at the blood drive. Bruno had brought in 25 potential donors to the blood drive by reaching out to family, friends, and neighbors. Bray contacted the Gordons Corner Fire Company and brought in 15 donors to the blood drive, most of whom were firefighters.

Bruno and Bray were able to walk the Pine Brook School halls ensuring student safety and learning as Principal and Assistant Principal on Feb. 12.

“One of the best perks of being ‘Principal for the Day’ was getting to design Mr. Spalthoff’s haircut,” Bruno said, referring to how he teamed up with John Caballero from Justin’s Barbershop to etch stars and hearts into Spathoff’s hair.
