Pine Brook School February Highlights

Students held a blood drive and jumped rope for a cause!

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

Student Council Holds 2nd Annual Blood Drive
The Student Council, in conjunction with the Central Jersey Blood Center, hosted a record setting blood drive on February 9th. Students participated in a month long competition titled the “Blood Donor Bowl.” As a result, over 125 people showed up to donate and 103 units of blood were collected. The CJBC informed us that Pine Brook set a new record for the number of units donated at any elementary or middle school drive in the past!

Physical Education Teachers Host 1st Annual Jump Rope for Heart
In collaboration with the American Heart Association, the students at Pine Brook
School participated in a Jump Rope for Heart event during their physical education
class on February 23 or February 24. We are excited to find out the total amount of how much Pine Brook has raised as a school to further research efforts of the
American Heart Association.

Teacher of the Year
Pine Brook was pleased to present Mrs. Patricia Caputo with the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award. Mrs. Caputo is an extremely valuable staff member who is adored by her colleagues and students. Her Science lessons are always hands on, intriguing, and thoroughly enjoyable.
