Pine Brook School Highlights from December

Students played jazz, showed off social studies projects, spread holiday cheer at the mall, competed in a spelling bee, and learned about bullying.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

Annual Social Studies Fair
All students participated in the Annual Social Studies Fair. The quality of the projects was outstanding. The students’ knowledge of their topics amazed the staff and community members who came to visit the Fair. All of our teachers and students are extremely proud of the finished projects displayed.

Jazz Band at Board of Education Meeting
The Pine Brook Jazz Band performed for the enjoyment of their parents and the Board of Education prior to their meeting on Dec. 6. The students performed both Jazz songs and holiday songs creating a sense of holiday spirit for the audience. The talents of our students continue to amaze us.

Morris Brothers Assembly
The Pine Brook community was treated to an exciting and high energy assembly on Dec. 13 presented by the Morris Brothers. The Morris Brothers portray themselves throughout the assembly as NERDS (Never Ending Radical Dudes) and speak about issues relevant to bullying, having strong character, and getting along with your classmates.

Annual Holiday Giving Tree
The Pine Brook Staff and PTA once again made us proud to be members of the Pine Brook Community by providing holiday gifts for eight (8) Pine Brook families. The office was overwhelmed with the number of presents brought in by the staff and their generosity.

Annual Spelling Bee
Pine Brook students participated on December 20th in the Annual School-Level Scripps National Spelling Bee. All contestants should be proud of their accomplishments and we look forward to seeing our school-wide winner at the State Spelling Bee at Monmouth University in March.

Choir and Jazz Band at Freehold Mall/Pine Brook School
Under the direction of Mr. Rusin and Ms. Singer, the Pine Brook Jazz band and Choir
collaborated to spread holiday cheer for all those last minute shoppers near Lord and Taylor at the Freehold Mall. The two groups repeated their performance for staff and students at Pine Brook on Friday, Dec. 23.
