Pine Brook School May Highlights

Check out the school's highlights from May 2013.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

NJASK6 Testing

All students took were administered the NJASK6 the first week of May. We are extremely proud of how serious our students took the State testing and how hard they worked throughout the entire week.

Mother’s Day Plant Sale
Pine Brook’s amazing PTA went above and beyond providing a Mother’s Day Plant sale for the students. Students were given the opportunity to purchase high quality plants and other items for their mothers and grandmothers.

Pine Brook Greenhouse Growing Broccoli
Under the direction of Mrs. Scuteri, the Pine Brook Garden Club grew broccoli in the greenhouse from seed using hydroponics. The broccoli grew tremendously and was then transplanted to our Outdoor Learning Environment. Along with our recently planted tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, pumpkins, and many other items we look forward to donating the produce over the summer months.

Science Fair
All Pine Brook students participated in the Annual Science Fair. The students’ projects were absolutely amazing and ranged from botany to physics. Students presented to their classmates and then at the Science Fair held in the All-Purpose Room. Parents and family members were invited to view the projects in the AllPurpose Room and were blown away by the outstanding work.

Birds of Prey Assembly
Compliments of the PTA, the students were all treated to an awe inspiring and very informative assembly given by Jonathon Wood of The Raptor Project. Bald eagles, owls, and raptors all delighted the audience and some even flew throughout the All Purpose Room.

Band/Orchestra Concerts
The Pine Brook Band and Orchestra performed for the enjoyment of their parents, families, and friends during their annual Spring Concert. “Skyfall,” “The Batman Theme,” “Party Rock Anthem,” and “ROCK in the USA” were just some of the many high energy songs performed by the two groups.
