Taylor Mills School December Highlights

A compilation of the school's highlights from December.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

The Sounds of Music

After returning from the Thanksgiving holiday, the students of Taylor Mills School dove right into a month of hard work; learning new concepts and skills in each of the grade levels. Our chorus did an outstanding job as they performed after months of preparation! We couldn’t be more proud of the dedication and commitment that led to these stellar performances. Mrs. Fischer and all of the students certainly deserved the commendations they received after each performance!

Service Learning

Our Student Government took the time this month to help coordinate the gift giving efforts of the staff and the entire student body. For the third year in a row, the families of our fantastic school took every single snowman from the Giving Tree, making the holidays a little brighter for over 25 families! In addition, they began working on our January-February “Souper-Bowl” School Spirit Contest.

Students in each homeroom will be competing in our spirit contest to see who donates the most non-perishable goods. All donations will go to a local food bank to help those in need now that the holiday rush to donate has subsided.

Our Student Government is also looking into ways to help victims of Hurricane Sandy as they relocate and/or rebuild. We can’t wait to see what they come up with this month.
