Taylor Mills School Highlights from December

Students excelled musically and donated food to those in need.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

The Sounds of Music

After returning from the Thanksgiving holiday, the students of Taylor Mills dove right into a month of hard work; learning new concepts and skills in each of the grade levels. Our band, orchestra, and chorus did an outstanding job as they performed after months of preparation! We couldn’t be more proud of the dedication and commitment that led to these stellar performances. Mrs. Newell, Mrs. Blick, Mr. Geltch and all of the students certainly deserved the commendations they received after each performance!

Service Learning

Our Student Government took the time this month to help coordinate the gift giving efforts of the staff and the entire student body. For the second year in a row, the families of our fantastic school took every single snowman from the Giving Tree, making the holidays a little brighter for over 25 families!

In addition, they helped us to coordinate our December School Spirit Contest, which was a continuation of the Food Drive that began in November. Our students should be commended for donating over 2,000 pounds of food to the Food Bank within a one month period of time, spanning multiple holidays.

The staff and students of would like to wish everyone in our community a very happy, healthy New Year! We are looking forward to many fabulous activities and lots of learning in 2012.
