Taylor Mills School March Highlights

Check out the school's highlights from March 2013.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.

Taylor Mills School kicked off the month of March with our Read Across America celebration. On March 1, Mrs. Anzalone, our media specialist, created a wonderful school-wide assembly in conjunction with several of our teachers with the theme, “Grab a Hat and Read with the Cat!” The school-wide celebration consisted of student readers and special guest readers including Mr. Strumwasser and our former media specialist, Mrs. Joan Brady. In addition, Mrs. Newell, our music teacher, led our 3rd graders as they delighted the audience with their spectacular interpretations of several selections from “Seussical the Musical.”

At Taylor Mills, Character Education is not a one time event; it is a part of our daily routine. As we do every month, one student in each class was selected by his/her teacher for consistently displaying noteworthy character. In addition, each and every day new students were heralded on Taylor Mills TV for their “Bucket Filling” ways during morning announcements. In addition, our daily “Words of Wisdom” helped us to remind students of the many character traits we have celebrated throughout the year. Beginning each day with positive quotes and rewarding our student role models certainly helps us maintain a positive climate within our building from the moment we enter through the doors.
