Action-Packed Events Kick Off Raceway Park's Summer Schedule

ENGLISHTOWN/OLD BRIDGE TWP., N.J — Raceway Park kicks off the summer with action-packed events the whole family can enjoy.

Earlier this month, Raceway Park held the 42nd annual National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Supernationals, featuring the best in drag racing, top fuel, funny cars, pro stock cars, motorcycles, and more.

On Sunday, June 12, families can enjoy the sixth annual “American Muscle Car Madness,” showcasing the best in hot rods and other classic cars. Tuesday, June 14  is “Cruise Night,” when car enthusiasts gather to show off their rides, ranging from tricked-out sports cars to classic versions of old favorites like Mustangs and Corvettes.

“‘Cruise Night' is by far my favorite time of the year,” says car enthusiast Nicholas Incatasciato of Marlboro. “For me, it’s automobile heaven. I just wish I had a car to show off every summer. You really can tell how much work people put into their cars, whether they're restored classics or newer cars with TV screens and awesome paint jobs.”

"Cruise Night" also features live music, food for those in attendance, and a free look at the park’s famous quarter-mile dragstrip.

For those that love monster trucks, look no further than the 36th annual “Night of Thrills” on Sat., June 18. The biggest and baddest monster trucks including a reincarnation of the world-famous “Gravedigger” will be on hand to crush cars in their path.

Other monster trucks include Monster Mutt, Viper, Maximum Destruction, and Black Stallion.

“If you like family-friendly, mud-slinging, crushin’ monster trucks, then ‘Night of Thrills’ is for you,” says Phil Obermeyer, who is part of Raceway Park’s security. “The staff here does a great job of keeping everything clean and safe. The only thing families have to worry about is what event they want to check out first!”
