Manalapan Soccer Club President Michael Hammer believes this gift has been a long time coming. “Putting in a turf field will benefit players for the next 12-15 years,” Hammer said in the press release. “Through our fundraising efforts over the last 12 years, we are now able to pay for the field. It is the success and hard work of so many people that has enabled our club to do something so rewarding.”

Manalapan Township Mayor Andrew Lucas was also essential in the installment of the turf field. “The public private partnership of the Manalapan Soccer Club with Manalapan Township has brought a tremendous amenity to the township at a time when fiscal constraints would not allow for public funding of it,” Lucas said in the press release. Parks and Recreation Superintendent Mona Chowlinski agreed and added that no donation to the Manalapan Recreation Center has been as sizable as this one.
