'Night of Thrills' Races Rock Manalapan

An incredible show of racing and engineering talent at Raceway Park with monster trucks and rocket powered vehicles.

The mighty engines of funny cars, rocket powered trucks, jet cars and monster trucks shook the earth of Manalapan on Saturday night. Raceway Park's "Night of Thrills" special event astounded audiences with monstrous, bizarre, and lighting fast vehicles speeding down the main track.

The highlights of the Fast Family Fun night were Bob Motz's flame spouting "Huge Jet" Peterbilt big rig and an array of wild monster trucks. The meanest monsters included audience favorite Gravedigger, the "Cool Bus," and the dog-themed Monster Mutt truck complete with floppy ears and a lolling tail and tongue. As the deafening jet cars roared down the track at over 300 miles per hour, sparklers shot out of the concrete barriers.

Between races, the bikers of the Hell On Wheels BMX stunt show made huge jumps off ramps, and cartoon characters waved to kids —who got in free —from pickup trucks rolling past the stands.
