Manalapan Rec Center Serves Up Fall Tennis Programs

Now is the time to sign up for Manalapan Parks and Recreation's 2012 Fall Tennis Programs! The fall program runs from the week of Sept. 11 through week of Oct. 16, however there will be no program on Sept, 18, 25 and 26. Make-up classes will take place from Oct. 23 through Nov. 1.

All classes will be held at the Tennis Courts.
Participants must supply their own racquet, wear sneakers, and bring something to drink. 

Youth Programs

Novice

• Fee $60
• Open to children ages 6 - 7
• Fun game challenges while learning basic tennis.
• Maximum of 12 participants per class; minimum of 6 participants
• Thursdays 4 p.m. - 4:55 p.m.

Beginner

• Fee $60
• Open to children ages 8 and older.
• Learn basic tennis strokes.
• Participants will be separated based on skill level.
• Tuesdays 4:30 p.m. – 5:25 p.m. OR Wednesdays 4 p.m. - 4:55 pm.

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Instruction with Play

• Fee $85
• Open to children ages 8 and older.
• Must have had previous lessons.
• Maximum of 13 participants per class; minimum of 8 participants
• Participants will be separated based on skill levels.
• More play to build skills.
• Tuesdays 5:30 p.m. - 6:55 p.m. OR Wednesdays 5 p.m. – 6:25 p.m.

Prepare For Team

•  Fee $60
• Open to ages 9 and older.
• Beyond the basics. Including serves, returns, chips, volleys, overheads and strategy to help you make the team and win! MUST have had previous lessons – NO EXCEPTIONS.
• Maximum of 13 participants per class; minimum of 8 participants.
• Tuesdays, 3:30 p.m. - 4:25 p.m.

Youth Instructional Competitive League

• Fee $85
• Open to ages 10 and older.
• MUST BE ABLE TO SERVE AND PLAY POINTS. First half hour will focus on shots & aspects of competitive play. Opportunity to learn the “mental” part of the game. More Trophies!!
• Maximum of 18 participants per class; minimum of 8 participants.
• Thursdays 5 p.m. - 6:55 pm.

All youth participants must be residents of Manalapan. Participants must be proper age by September 11, 2012. Please show proof of age when registering. Youth fees include 6 classes and a Tennis participant T-shirt.

Adult Programs

Beginner with Play 

•  Fee: $85 for residents, $125 for non-residents
• Learn fundamental strokes and how to play tennis. Final 30 minutes is play with instruction.
• Maximum of 12 people per class.
• Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m. - 11:55 p.m. OR Thursdays 11 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.

Advanced Beginner Instruction with Play

• Fee $85 for residents, $125 for non-residents
• Improve skills on basic strokes. Some introduction to advanced shots. Instruction based on individual needs. Includes play with instruction.
• Maximum of 12 people per class.
• Tuesdays, 9 a.m. - 10:25 a.m.

Intermediate/Advanced Instruction with Play

• Fee $110 for residents, $150 for non-residents
• Improve skills on basic strokes. Introduction to advanced shots including spins, specialty volleys and serves. Longer play to advance skills.
• Instruction based on individual needs. 2nd hour is play with instruction.  
• Thursdays, 9 a.m. - 10:55 a.m.

Morning Adult League

• Fee $60 for residents, $90 for non-residents
• Depending on who signs up and who comes out, we’ll have singles, doubles or a combination of both.
• Come out to enjoy some friendly competition and meet new players.
• Maximum 12 per class.
• Wednesdays 9 a.m. - 10:25 a.m.

Evening Adult League

• Fee $60 for residents, $90 for non-residents
• Same as Morning League.
• Maximum 12 per class.
• Wednesdays 6:30 p.m. - 7:55 p.m.

Adult program fees do not include T-shirt.
