Two Mad Science Camps at Manalapan Rec Center
There are two different weekly camps this August for kids in kindergarten through third grade.
Mad Science, a science enrichment provider for children, is offering two summer camps this August at the . Each day of the camp the children will receive a take-home experiment and project sheet that supplements the camp's topic.
Mad Machines & Junior Engineers
When: Monday, Aug. 13 - Friday, Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. - noon

Where: Manalapan Recreation Center Kuschik Pavilion
What: Children will become "Mini Mad Science engineers"! They will design and build skyscrapers with simple tools and their creative minds; the campers will also work together to construct a geodesic dome big enough for all of the campers to fit inside. Campers will learn about the science of simple machines by assembling their own catapults, working with pulleys, wedges, screws and levers. The campers will also play robot soccer, maneuver sound activated robots throughout an obstacle course, and test line-tracking robots.

Radical Reactions & Detective Science
When: Monday, Aug. 20 - Friday, Aug. 24 from 9 a.m. - noon
Where: Manalapan Recreation Center Kuschik Pavilion
What: Campers enjoy thought-provoking detective work and engage in crazy experiments in this camp! Children will grow crystals, design chromatography t-shirts, and make their own sidewalk chalk from scratch. Also, the campers will become trained private eyes as they learn about the role of chemistry at the scene of the crime, dust for fingerprints, and make obeservations.

Both camps are open to Manalapan resident children finishing grades K-3 as of June 2012.
The fee for each camp is $125 per child.
