What to Expect at Manalapan Day

Everything you need to know about Manalapan Day 2012.

Our town's summer celebration is almost here! The festival full of live shows, rides, fireworks, and lots of food kicks off tomorrow at the at 3 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m. The Manalapan Arts Council is saying that this year will be bigger than ever before due to the large number of sponsors.

  • Attractive Nuisenze - Manalapan band covering music from the 50's to current hits and playing original music
  • Takeaway - Manalapan pop-punk playing
  • Shore Ratz - Manalapan classic rock band covering music from the 70's to the present
  • Manalapan High School Braves Cheerleaders

Master of Ceremonies Tommy G will be entertaining the crowd as 60's music will be playing all day setting a groovy vibe in honor of The Rockinghams who will be playing 60's classics and hits on vintage instruments and mod outfits.

The 60's vibe culminates at night as Herman's Hermits, starring Peter Noone, hit the Main Stage and begin to play their popular rock hits including "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter", "Hold On!", "Got A Feeling", and "I'm into Something Good".

The Manalapan local bands Attractive Nuisenz, Takeaway, and Shore Ratz will be playing throughout the day between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and DJ BTwice (Brian Becker) will be spinning tunes in between band sets.

Not everyone is as fortunate as the many Manalapan residents so a donation of a high-protein canned good and other non-perishable items are being requested for donation to the local food pantry, The Samaritan Center.

Parking

Do NOT let parking scare you away from Manalapan Day festivities! Free transportation and parking is available to everyone. Shuttle busses will be taking roundtrip transports from the Covered Bridge I Clubhouse and from Manalapan High School to the Rec Center beginning at 3 p.m. and ending after the fireworkds display.

Don't forget delicious cheese steaks, hand pressed burgers and home made potato chips. Look for the yellow tent marked Hartigan's Grille. Stop by, have a bite and say hello!
