Manalapan HS to Hold Seminar About Special Needs Students and College

Here is a look at what is going on in Manalapan and Englishtown this week.

Government

All government offices are closed on Monday for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. 

The Englishtown Borough Council is meeting at the Englishtown Municipal Building at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Borough will be approving a resolution appointing an Emergency Management Coordinator and the 2014 temporary operating budget.

The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional Schools District Board of Education is holding a regular action meeting at the administration building at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Learning Disabilities Seminar

The Freehold Regional High School District is holding a seminar entitled “Getting College Right for Students with Learning Disabilities and ADHD”. This district-wide presentation will be held at Manalapan High School from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. 

Elizabeth Cohen-Hamblet, a learning disabilities specialist at the post-secondary level, will be running this presentation. Parents and students are encouraged to attend this event. For more information, click here

 

Class on Make-up Application

The Monmouth County Library is holding a class entitled “How to Look Fabulous at Any Age!” at 7 p.m. on Thursday. The class will be taught by licensed cosmetologist and professional make-up artist Josie Vega. Vega will be teaching tips on how to create a youthful make-up look and models will be chosen from the audience.  

Battleground Historical Society Meeting

The Battleground Historical Society is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the Village Inn in Englishtown. This meeting is open to the public and visitors are encouraged to come visit and take a tour of the inn. The Village Inn is located at the corner of Main and Water Streets in Englishtown.
