NJEA Convention Closes Schools for Two Days

Here is a look at what is going on this week in Manalapan and Englishtown.

Government 

  • The Channel 77 Volunteers are meeting in room 216 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 7 p.m. on Monday. 
  • The Transportation Committee is meeting in room 216 of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
  • The Teen Leadership Committee is meeting in the downstairs portion of the Manalapan Police Department within the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
  • The Zoning Board is meeting in the courtroom of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 8 p.m. on Thursday. 

Election 

Tuesday is Election Day - time to head to the polls and cast your vote! This election there will be a variety of items on the ballot to vote for including governor and lieutenant governor, United States senator, New Jersey senate, New Jersey state assemblyman, county freeholders, municipal council members, school board members, and two statewide questions. Schools 

All schools within the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District and the Freehold Regional High School District will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the NJEA Convention.

The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education is holding a regular meeting at their administration building at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Administration Building is located at 54 Main Street in Englishtown.

"Pocket Purses" Craft

Students between sixth and twelfth grades are invited to come to the Monmouth County Library on Friday for a fun sewing craft called “Pocket Purses”. Participant will learn how to make a small purse that can be embellished. The library will be supplying the material for the purse along with strapping, chain, lace, thread, and needles. However, participants must bring their own embellishments for the purse - such as beads, buttons, chars, or old broken jewelry. This craft is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is required. Please call 732-431-7220 ext. 7222 to register.
