Amazing food and especially amazing burgers. Try the Larry!

The food and in-restaurant service gets five stars, but we've had problems ordering over the phone. Several times no one answered when we called early in the evening on a Friday or Saturday night. Just got off the phone and was curtly told by a young girl that the grill was closed "because they close at 8pm." We called at 7:30. ???

Chris Jordan from the Asbury Park Press wrote the following article in the July 8th living section:

Green eggs and ham — not just for Dr Seuss anymore. It's now on the breakfast menu of the new Hartigan’s Grille in Englishtown.

"It's eggs and basil pesto and fresh prosciutto," said owner Matt Hartigan, a native of Manalapan. "We like to play around."

Hartigan's Grille — occupying the spot of the former Four Boys Ice Cream and Luncheonette — has been open for the last two months and just recently started offering a dinner menu.

"We have a nice variety for dinner," said Hartigan. "We go around the world, from traditional Irish shepherd’s pie and American steaks and chops to fusion dishes."

Dinner includes a pesto crusted veal chop over a porcini mushroom risotto, a homemade meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and a homemade potato gnocchi in a roasted garlic asiago parmesan cream sauce.

That's rich.

Hartigan's Grille is on 3 Tennent Ave. Call 732-851-7500 or visit www.hartigansgrille.com for more information.

This place definitely qualifies as Epic! I agree with Joe that it's squeaky clean - could use a little decor on the walls, but that didn't bother me at all. I tried it with my wife when it first opened, and it has comes leaps and bounds since then. The food is the highest quality. Obviously, Leo has never eaten fresh food before and doesn't know what it tastes like. I had a delicious Hartigan burger & loved it! It was juicy & cooked perfectly - the fries were also hot and crispy. It's definitely different from anything else that's been in this location, but I think it's exactly what Englishtown deserved!!!

I've been to Hartigan's a few times now. Every experience is great. The food is delicious. During my last visit, I had the philly cheese steak and it was out of this world. The quality of the meat was a cut above any other cheese steak I have had. Treat your self and stop by. Place is squeaky clean, service is great and the HD tv's are a delight to watch.

I'll be back this weeked!

their signature burger is not like any I have had before. The bacon and onions are in a bourbon sauce and I have never had smoked gouda cheese before but it works. definitely solid, I will bring my family back next time

Went to Hartigan' s Grille to check out the new place in town. The restaurant is bright and cheerful. The waitresses were friendly and the service was excellent. I ordered the french dip and my husband ordered the meatball burger. I've tried french dips in every restaurant in New Jersey and this was by far the best I've ever had. My husband was very impressed with his meal. We will definitely be returning to continue trying everything else on the menu. Chef Matt has a winner!!!

A group of us went to Hartigan's for a to try out the place. I was not very impressed when I walked in I felt the decor was lacking. I ordered 2 egss sunny side up and a side of bacon (3 pieces). It is hard to mess up an egg but the bacon was cold and was cooked so long before it broke into a million little dry pieces. Than we got our bill I ended paying $13 for 2 eggs and cold dry bacon. I do not think I will be stopping by for lunch or breakfast anytime soon.

I ate at Hartigan's Grille this weekend with my family & the food was delish!! I had the Meatball Burger -- it's actually a homemade meatball patty with marinara sauce, cheese and prosciutto ... unbelievable! My husband got the cheesesteak and said it was the best of his life. We will definitely be back!!
