Manalapan High School Receives 5 Basie Award Nominations

"Midsummer Night's Dream" received four nominations and "The Wedding Singer" received one nomination.

Manalapan High School has received an impressive five nominations for Basie Awards this year, an annual award show sponsored by the Count Basie Theatre. This year marks the seventh annual Basie Awards, which recognizes high school performing arts with the purpose to foster an appreication for the arts and honoring excellence in high school theater. "A Midsummer Night's Dream" has received four nominations, including Outstanding Costume Design (for Meghan Reeves), Outstanding Direction in a Drama (for Jesse Grabowski), Outstanding Dramatic Presentation (for Jesse Grabowski), and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama (for Nicole Friedman). How fitting that Jesse Gabowski is nominated and the FRHSD see's fit to can him. MHS will be losing a good teacher that the kids love. Another fine job by those who are prolific at draining capital that could be used in the classroom instead of the board room. Way to go FRHSD.   more ›
