Jazz group plays originals, adds flavor to standards
From all external appearances, Monmouth County Library headquarters looked the same as usual this past Sunday afternoon, but were you to walk inside, you'd find the lights dimmed low and the air punctuated by alternating wails and sighs from Eric Goletz's trombone. Every so often, former director of Monmouth County Library Jack Livingstone decides to turn the building he brought into existence into a jazz club. It's something Livingstone has been doing since 1973, when a poor jazz musician complained to him that he couldn't afford a place to perform.
