PHOTOS: Manalapan Holds Candlelight Vigil to Remember Newtown Victims

Members of the community gathered to remember those who lost their lives in the Newtown shooting.

A short candlelight vigil was held outside of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building on Wednesday, Dec. 19. Mayor Susan Cohen lead the ceremony, gathering community members around the flagpole in front of the building. The names of all 26 victims who lost their lives in the brutal Newtown, Conn. shootings were announced and 26 candles were lit in their memory. A moment of silence to acknowledge those who perished, as well as to pay tribute to those who survive, was observed.

Manalapan Candlelight Vigil for Newtown Victims On Wednesday

Come say a prayer and light a candle for those affected by the killings in Newtown, Conn. last week.

A candlelight vigil in memory of the lives lost in the Newtown, Conn. shooting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19 outside of the Manalapan Township Municipal Building at 7:45 p.m. The entire community is invited to come together at this vigil in order to remember and pray for those affected in the Newtown tragedy. The holiday lights at the municipal building will be shut off Wednesday evening and will return on Thursday.
