Man Indicted on Eluding Police Charge in Multi-Town Chase

The chase began in Howell and went through Freehold, Manalpan, and Marlboro before ending in Aberdeen.

Devante Jones, 19, of Cliffwood was indicted this week on charges of eluding police after an August police chase which spanned from Howell to Aberdeen. The chase eventually ended with his being apprehended following a foot pursuit in Aberdeen, according to police. According to Detective Sgt. Eileen Dodd, Jones was observed by Cpl. Fred Bauer to be driving his 2012 Toyota in a reckless manner. After Jones refused to stop he lead officers on a multi-department chase up Route 9 North through Freehold, Manalapan, and Marlboro before Bauer stopped his chase.
