Man allegedly used a shovel to pry open the back door of the residence.
A Manalapan man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to burglarize a home on Frances Drive in Freehold Borough. Freehold Borough Police arrested Juan G. Martinez, 46, of Dey Street in Manalapan, on Friday, Nov. 23 after he allegedly attempted to break into the home. According to the complaint warrant, Martinez entered the home by using a shovel to pry open the back door. By using the shovel, Martinez caused approximately $500 in damage to the frame and door. Martinez was charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $50,000 bail.
Freehold Borough police state the cause of the crash a was a timing misjudgment.

A Freehold Regional High School District (FRHSD) school bus was rear-ended by a car early Tuesday morning on Route 79 near the student parking lot of Freehold High School. According to Freehold Borough police, the accident occurred at approximately 7:06 a.m. and caused about a 20 minute delay to travelers on Broadway. A press released issued by the FRHSD stated that a total of 37 Freehold High School students were on the bus when it was hit.
