Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education member James Mumolie was appointed President of the Board for 2013 at last night’s reorganization meeting at Pine Brook School. Mumolie is a local attorney who has served on the Board of Education for thirteen years. He has served as President of the Board in 2002 and 2003. Dotty Porcaro was named Vice President of the Board for 2013. Porcaro previously served the Board of Education for five years prior to rejoining the Board in 2011. Like the Freehold Regional High School District, the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District (MERS) must make-up days lost during the time off taken as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Currently, Governor Chris Christie and the Department of Education have no intention of waiving the 180-day requirement for school’s calendars causing districts to scramble to make up lost days. The MERS Board of Education approved an amended calendar at their Tuesday night meeting which turns two originally scheduled days off into regular school days. All of the district numbers have been tallied and the unofficial results from the Monmouth County Clerk's Office are reporting that Republican incumbent Ryan Green has been re-elected to a three-year term on the Manalapan Township Committee, beating Democratic challenger Seth Ptasiewicz by an 18.56 percent margin. Both Englishtown Borough Council Republican incumbents Lori Cooke and Maryanne Krawiec were re-elected to their positions on the dais for three-year terms. Jennifer Sutera was re-elected as the Manalapan representative of the Freehold Regional High School District beating challenger Gloria Close by a 30.65 percent margin. Last week, the Manalapan K-8 PTA Presidents and the MEMS Booster Organization sponsored a “Meet the Candidates Night” for the upcoming Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District Board of Education election. Seven candidates are vying for two open seats on the Board of Education and their names will be on the ballot come Tuesday, Nov. 6. With the Autumn Pasquale tragedy and other missing children incidences occurring, I believe that it is imperative that we teach students how to protect themselves and make smart choices about meeting people over the internet and making themselves vulnerable. Technology could be such a helpful tool, yet, this is one danger that we must keep our students away from.   more ›

I'm done with this thread. Right or not I feel he did not act as he should have. Decisions were made too quickly, for the wrong reasons and other reasons were given too late. If you don't want to agree with me, you don't have to. But on the record....I am NOT a Milford parent. Other parents at others schools also have issues with him.
