Fire at Lexington Drive Home Ruled Accidental
The single resident of the home was able to escape without injury.
An accidental fire ignited at a Lexington Drive home on Tuesday afternoon which seemingly began in the utility room of the home, according to preliminary investigative reports by the Fire Marshall's Office. Manalapan police arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m. and saw flames and smoke coming from the second story windows of the home. Police and first responders from Gordons Corner Fire Company were unable to extinguish the fire, however, once the rest of the department arrived the fire was doused, according to police. The home was occupied by a retired 82-year-old man who was able to escape the home and sustained no injuries. The man is the only occupant of the home, police said.
