Public works will be collecting storm debris in the following neighborhoods Tuesday, Dec. 4.
Manalapan Township Department of Public Works is working with hired contractors to clean up the storm debris that Hurricane Sandy left behind. So far, 30,000 cubic yards of debris have been picked up by Public Works and they are not even half way done going through Manalapan. The streets that are scheduled for branch, brush, and debris collection starting on Tuesday, Dec. 4 are: Please place all tree limbs, branches, brush, and damaged trees at the curb for collection and be sure that it is not in the street or juts out into the street as this can be hazardous to drivers. The Public Works and contractor trucks may be coming around the neighborhood to collect debris in the early morning hours in order to accomplish as much as possible.

Trucks will be in some Manalapan neighborhoods tomorrow picking up storm debris.
The Manalapan Township Public Works Department, and several outside contractors, will be picking up storm debris this Saturday, Nov. 17 along Taylor Mills Road, Wickatunk Road, Ryan Road, and the Holiday North development. The Township wants to remind residents to place the damaged trees, limbs, branches and brush at the curb. Please make sure the debris is not in the street as this could cause a hazard to drivers. The trucks will be in the neighborhoods early in the morning in order to take advantage of as much daylight as possible. The Manalapan Recycling Center will also be open this Sunday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Garbage and recycling collection will return to normal this week, according to the Manalapan Township municipal government. Residents who have Tuesday and Friday garbage pick-up will have their recycling collected on Wednesday. In terms of bulk collection, two bulk items will be collected once a month on the last Thursday or Friday collection day of the month. All storm damaged bulk will be collected at the end of the month. These items should be placed at the curb and they will be collected by the Public Works Department along with the tree and branch collection. More information regarding storm damage bulk collection will be issued by the government soon.
