JCP&L Crews Working on Failed Transformers and Substations

Eight crews are working on the malfunctioned electrical transformers and two substations without power.

There are eight crews from Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) currently working on the electrical transformers that malfunctioned last night, according to a statement to issued by the Manalapan Township municipal government. The crews are also working on the Gordon's Corner and Texas Road substations that still have no power. Additional crews have been dispatched to the southern portion of Manalapan to restore power that has been lost their due to the snowstorm and Hurricane Sandy. The Township indicated that they are aware of all the streets within the community that are still without power, but will not be publicizing them any more due to safety reasons. JCP&L: Power Restored by Saturday

Power crews are working today and tonight to help repair all electrical lines.

The Manalapan Township municipal government issued a statement indicating that 5,700 residents lost power Wednesday night as a result of the heavy snow and high winds of the Nor'easter. Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) told the Township that power is expected to be restored by Saturday. Tree and line crews are working to bring back the electricity and will continue to work throughout tonight, according to the municipal government. If you have not yet reported your outage, please contact JCP&L at 888-544-4877 or 800-662-3115. The Manalapan Township Department of Public Works are continuing to plow the streets and remove downed trees.
