Parent-Teacher Conferences Pine Brook School held their annual Spring Conferences from March 13-15. This is always a great opportunity to complete the extremely important home-school connection. Parents were able to call in and schedule the conferences with teachers who requested them on the Parent Portal. Student Council Holds 3rd Annual Blood Drive The Pine Brook Student Council, in conjunction with the Central Jersey Blood Center, hosted a record setting blood drive on February 7th. Students participated in a month long competition titled the “Blood Donor Bowl.” As a result, over 100 people showed up to donate and 90 units of blood were collected. The CJBC was so impressed with Pine Brook that the school received an official citation from the New Jersey State Legislature, as did Mr. Spalthoff for volunteering to have the student who brought in the most donations pick a design …

Two students were recognized for their hard work recruiting donors.
The Pine Brook School Council hosted their third annual blood drive on Thursday, Feb. 7 with the help of the Central Jersey Blood Center. Eighty-nine units of blood were collected from over 100 people. Students Thomas Bruno and Thomas Bray were appointed Principal and Assistant Principal of the Day on Tuesday, Feb. 12 for all of their hard work at the blood drive. Bruno had brought in 25 potential donors to the blood drive by reaching out to family, friends, and neighbors. Bray contacted the Gordons Corner Fire Company and brought in 15 donors to the blood drive, most of whom were firefighters. Bruno and Bray were able to walk the Pine Brook School halls ensuring student safety and learning as Principal and Assistant Principal on Feb. 12…

Student Council Plans 3rd Annual Blood Drive The Pine Brook Student Council, in conjunction with the Central Jersey Blood Center, is planning a Blood Drive for February 7, 2013 from 3:15PM – 7:30PM at Pine Brook. The Student Council had an afterschool planning meeting with a representative from the Blood Center. At this meeting, the students learned about the importance of blood donations, the process, and how they will be able to assist during the day of the drive. Pine Brook set a CJBC record last year with 103 units donated. Our goal for this year is 110 units. Please …

The minors have been identified and charges are pending, according to police.
Two Manalapan adolescents are possible suspects in reported vandalism at Wemrock Brook School and Pine Brook School, the Manalapan Police Department said. The Manalapan Parks and Recreation Department reported the criminal mischief done at the schools to the police on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 22. According to a police report, the Pine Brook School had bathrooms vandalized and the Wemrock Brook School had a video camera damaged. The deliberate destruction of this property took place while the Parks and Recreation Basketball Program was taking place. Ptl. Seth Kreizman reportedly handled the investigation and both juvenile suspects have been identified. Charges against the adolescents are pending, according to police.

Opening of School The beginning of the school year is off to a fantastic start at Pine Brook. Out new 6th graders have quickly adapted to their new schedules, opening their lockers, and meeting new friends. The teachers are working cooperatively in both PLCs and Team meetings to address the student needs and increase student achievement. Internet Safety Presentations On Sept. 13 the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office presented an assembly focusing on Internet Safety to all of the Pine Brook students and staff. All local senior citizens are encouraged to volunteer for this weekly program.
Manalapan’s Pine Brook School is looking to close the gap between senior citizens and their sixth grade students with their Generation Connection program. The program brings Manalapan senior residents into the school during lunch periods to speak with small groups of students about their hobbies and interests. This year two senior citizen residents are scheduled to speak with the students, but all senior citizens from the area are welcome to participate in the program, according to Pine Brook School Assistant Principal Julie Saccente. The senior citizens volunteer to come in once a week and meet with the children because it is something they truly enjoy, Saccente said. Annual Pine Brook Talent Show Under the direction of Miss Singer, the Annual Pine Brook School Talent Show was held on March 1st with 12 amazing acts performing. Students were treated to acts ranging from dance routines, to amazing pianists, and ending with an outstanding rendition of a popular Adele song.
