Pine Brook School December Highlights

A compilation of the school’s highlights from December.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District. Student Council Plans 3rd Annual Blood Drive The Pine Brook Student Council, in conjunction with the Central Jersey Blood Center, is planning a Blood Drive for February 7, 2013 from 3:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Pine Brook School. The Student Council will have an afterschool planning meeting with a representative from the Blood Center. At this meeting, the students will learn about the importance of blood donations, the process, and how they will be able to assist during the day of the drive.   Blood Donor Bowl In order to increase enthusiasm and participation the entire school is …

A compilation of the school’s highlights from October and November.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District.   Team Building Activities The beginning of the school year is a fun, exciting, and nervous time for our new 6th grade students. At the end of September and the beginning of October, the Physical Education teachers worked with their classes on team building utilizing the MULC (multi-use low course) in the rear of the building. Students were given an opportunity to learn more about their classmates and to work of trust activities to help create a better sense of community at Pine Brook School. The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District. Opening of School The beginning of the school year is off to a fantastic start at Pine Brook. Out new 6th graders have quickly adapted to their new schedules, opening their lockers, and meeting new friends. The teachers are working cooperatively in both PLCs and Team meetings to address the student needs and increase student achievement.   Internet Safety Presentations On Sept. 13 the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office presented an assembly focusing on Internet Safety to all of the Pine Brook students and staff. School Highlights

Pine Brook School April Highlights

The PTA donated greenhouses, students competed in the Battle of the Books, and the chorus and jazz band performed for students and parents.

  Battle of the Books Under the direction of Mrs. Steiner, the Annual Pine Brook Battle of the Books was held on April 11th in the Media Center. Six teams competed for the ultimate title of Battle of the Books Champions. The competition was fierce and it was a close battle. Most importantly, all students read numerous books and were proud to represent their teams at the Battle.   Chorus and Jazz Band Concert Under the direction of Miss Singer and Mr. Rusin, the Pine Brook Chorus and Jazz Band performed both in school and for the community on April 19th. Pine Brook School March Highlights

Students displayed their talents in a show and advanced in the State National History Day Competition.

The following highlights are submitted by Irene Policastro, the Secretary to Superintendent John J. Marciante of the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District. Annual Pine Brook Talent Show Under the direction of Miss Singer, the Annual Pine Brook School Talent Show was held on March 1st with 12 amazing acts performing. Students were treated to acts ranging from dance routines, to amazing pianists, and ending with an outstanding rendition of a popular Adele song. All students made Pine Brook proud and should be congratulated on their commitment and dedication to their specific talents. A big thanks also goes to our stage crew who made the show run flawless. Students planned and held a blood drive, held a winter concert, participated in a school Geography Bee, began basketball intramurals, and learned about character.
