Manalapan Schools Look to Go Green Using Solar Paneling

Board votes to move forward with plan to convert district to solar energy.

Solar energy could be coming to the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District as early as 2011. On Tuesday, Dec. 7, the Manalapan-Englishtown Board of Education voted to proceed with a Solar Power Initiative/Roof Replacement Project. The board voted to allow Spiezle Architecture Group, LLC, to petition the state Department of Education on the district's behalf. The proposal involves the roof replacement of three district schools, Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School, Pine Brook School, and Milford Brook School, and the installation of solar panels at all eight of the district's schools, including Lafayette Mills, Taylor Mills, Clark Mills, Wemrock Brook School, and John I.
