More than 100,000 cubic yards of storm debris was collected in Manalapan.
The Manalapan Township Department of Public Works has fully completed the storm clean-up as a result of Hurricane Sandy. “On behalf of the Township Committee and the residents we would like to thank Alan Spector, Public Works Director and his staff on a job well done," Deputy Mayor Jordan Maskowitz said in an issued statement. Over 100,000 cubic yards of storm debris were collected in Manalapan Township by the Department of Public Works over the 10 weeks since Sandy hit, Maskowitz said. During this time period, the Department of Public Works also took care of leaf collection and plowed after the November snow storm. More Manalapan neighborhoods will see a final storm debris pick-up on Wednesday, Jan. 2.
Manalapan Township Department of Public Works is working with hired contractors to clean up the storm debris that Hurricane Sandy left behind. A second and final collection of storm branches, brush and debris has already commenced in Manalapan. The streets scheduled for collection beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 2 are: Please place all tree limbs, branches, brush, and damaged trees at the curb for collection and be sure that it is not in the street or juts out into the street as this can be hazardous to drivers. The Public Works and contractor trucks may be coming around the neighborhood to collect debris in the early morning hours in order to accomplish as much as possible.

The streets that are scheduled for branch, brush, and debris collection starting on Thursday, Dec. 20 are: These are the final streets to be completed in our first collection schedule. If your street is not on the collection schedule that does not mean that the street has been missed. According to the Township, a second and final collection will take place within the Township once everything has been picked up a first time. So far, 30,000 cubic yards of debris have been picked up by Public Works and they are not even half way done going through Manalapan.
