Clark- Around 6:30 p.m. Caleb Lawrence McGillvary, aka Internet celeb "Kai the Hatchet-Wielding Hitchhiker," was arrested at the Greyhound Bus Terminal in Philadelphia, by members of the Philadelphia Police Department, announced Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Wall- The former assistant superintendent of Wall Township Schools was indicted Monday morning on charges she failed to immediately report a possible sexual assault of a 4-year-old special needs student by a teacher and then lied to police and tried to cover up her inaction, according to the indictment. In the market for a new car? How about a lawn mower or construction trailer? These items could be yours if the price is right. Monmouth County is holding an online auction of items from the county’s Fleet Services, Bridge Division, Buildings and Grounds, Park System and Reclamation Center, as well as seized and surplus property from the Prosecutor’s Office. The items are being made available in two USGovBid.com auctions: one featuring 99 items and ending Wednesday, May 8 and one featuring a construction trailer ending Wednesday, May 15. The cars up for auction include a 2005 Cadillac CTS, a 2013 Ford Explorer and a 2003 Mercedes Benz CL55 AMG. Brick- A jury has found Brick resident Anthony DiGilio not guilty of vehicular homicide and assault by vessel in connection with a fatal Aug. 3, 2008 boating accident. The 1 a.m. accident rocked the Jersey Shore boating community and a subsequent investigation led to charges being brought against DiGilio, who was at the helm of a 27-foot Imperial performance boat when the accident occurred in the area where the Metedeconk River converges with Barnegat Bay in Brick. Tennent Avenue (Route 522) will will be closed from Main Street in Englishtown to Tennent Road in Manalapan while it is being resurfaced between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday, April 8 through Tuesday, April 16, Monmouth County has announced. The Manalapan Police Department said that the construction is expected to be completed by Thursday, April 11 at the earliest barring no weather delay. The Monmouth County Highway Division will be setting up a detour route and will be notifying residents and businesses that will be affected by milling and paving of the road. The road will be closed to most traffic during this project, but open to local traffic, businesses, emergency vehicles, school buses, and post office vehicles. So, please plan an …

Howell resident files to run for re-election
Sheriff Shaun Golden filed paperwork to run for a full term as Monmouth County Sheriff. Golden was originally named to the position when then Sheriff Kim Guadagno left to become Lt. Governor in Gov. Chris Christie's administration. Ahead of June's primary three candidates have filed to run for the county-wide position. Along with Golden, Ruben M. Scolavino of Freehold is running on the Democratic ticket while Daniel Peters of Lincroft is running on the Republicans for Conservative Leadership ticket. Two seats on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders will also be up for grabs. Democrat Brian Froelich of Spring Lake, who ran against Rep.
