Manalapan Teen Helps Monmouth County Animals with Petco Event

In connection with Rock & Rawhide, a Manalapan boy is helping animals in the Monmouth County SPCA with an item collection and adoption site at the Freehold Petco on April 27.

A Manalapan-Englishtown Middle School student is using his bar mitzvah as a way to help animals in need. Brandon Block, 13, is an animal lover and owner of adopted pets. With his bar mitzvah approaching, Block realized that his mitzvah project could benefit local animals after his mother heard about an event on Z-100. “I decided to do a mitzvah project because for your bar mitzvah you are supposed to do one act of kindness. The Monmouth County SPCA has many animals looking for forever homes. Ella is a 10-month-old boxer/terrier mix described as happy and outgoing. She loves showing affection and gets along with other dogs. Although Ella is deaf, she does respond to hand signals and will adapt to your household and family activities. Kiki has been at the SPCA for a year with her son after being transferred from an overcrowded shelter elsewhere. Noah is a fun-loving 4-year-old cat who came to the SPCA because his former owner had a cat allergy. Pet Adoptions Coming to Freehold Raceway Mall

Former pet store will be renovated and taken over by the Monmouth County SPCA on April 26.

The Monmouth County SPCA announced they will open a second Homeward Bound Adoption Center at the Freehold Raceway Mall. The new adoption center will have a grand opening on April 26 at 10:00 a.m. with giveaways for the first adopters. “The Freehold Mall Adoption Center serves two critical objectives for the organization,” explained Jerry Rosenthal, MCSPCA Interim Executive Director. “First, it provides a location in Western Monmouth County to better serve the needs of all the residents of the community. Second, it offers the Monmouth County SPCA the opportunity to continue to spread our message of adoption and responsible pet ownership.” This news came after a decision by Macerich, a mall management company, decided to bank the sale of …

Gracie is a beautiful three-year-old hound mix who came from a shelter down south. Gracie is fun-loving and lively, and she loves people. She can be very silly and makes you laugh. 'Sylvia' Opens at Center Playhouse With Fundraiser

Canine comedy's opening night to benefit Rose’s Fund for Animals and Monmouth County SPCA.

The Center Playhouse begins a five-week run of Sylvia Thursday, July 21 with a fundraiser well suited to the canine comedy: a portion of proceeds from opening night will benefit Rose’s Fund for Animals and the Monmouth County SPCA. Tickets for the “A Paws for Rescue” fundraiser are $40 each. The event begins at 6 p.m. and includes a reception and light buffet before the show, which begins at 7:30 p.m. Sylvia, written by A.R. Gurney, tells the story of an odd love triangle involving a middle-aged man, the dog he adopts and his wife.
