In reading this Patch artice I saw that Mayor Cohen informed the public that " the township committee has no jurisdiction over the MERS District Board of Education, in accordance with state law". After talking with the Finance Dept today who told me that we sent 51 million last year to the B of Ed, the Mayor and the Mayor of Englishtown need to be more involved, attend, input to what goes on over there. If there is such a law, then she should publish it for all to read. If there is no accountability, then we should look at taking our tax money and sending our kids to private schools. Who needs all this aggravation of not knowing if our children are with safe people. I bet if Mayor Cohens grandchild was on that bus, she would have looked at it differently

If anyone has a camera we should film the meeting. The township said they did not have an agreement to with the MERS B of Ed. Interestingly, we have no problem in filming the high school meeting.

Here we go again with the infighting in the community. That is what brings us down. Try to respect all opinions and " be part of the solution and not be part of the problem".

I guess since the committee decided to pass it without providing us with the details as our mayor promised, we will have to get our own copy from the state and go through it thoughly. It should be enlightening.

Patrick, Forget repairing anything in this town. Look, See, nothing gets done by public works these days. The residents have to take their own brush to public works, they only pick up once a year unless there is a storm. They do not clean the streets even though they have a street cleaner sitting idle and according to the above people they are not even cleaning township property which I would recommend the above people do not do. If you do not own the property, they can't force you to do it or pay to have it done. It is the townships responsibility and if they want to take you to court, great, because just like the 400 people who showed up to defend not putting a dealership on Taylors Mills Rd, the people will show up at court and defend you. You are only responsible for your own property. I guess the next issue that need to be taken on is what is public works and the township committee actually doing with our taxpayer dollars. Folks, write or call the Attorney Generals office in Trenton, New Jersey and they will investigate it for you free of charge.

I watched the town meeting of 4/25/12 presentations and was disappointed that even though the line item budget was requested from the committee to be put on the Manalapan website prior to the meeting, they chose not to. When asked of the mayor why not, she replied "that it would be put on the next day after public hearing" . As of 5/3/12, it has not been posted. It is interesting that thousands of pages of the master plan have been posted with no problems. How does the committee even try to conduct a public hearing without providing the iinformation to the residents. Why does the mayor tell us that it will be on the township website the next day for all to see and then not post it? Why does the mayor tell us that there will be no more public hearing and that they will adopt the budget at their next meeting? It is unfair and illegal to not allow the public the opportunity to intelligently question the line item budget because it has not been provided on the township website. to the residents. I find it very disturbing that we have a mayor & committee who say they. will do something and then do not honor their commitments. I call for the committee to post the line item budget first, then a public hearing to be done, corrections made and then adopt the budget. That is the way government is supposed to work

How about introduce our children to the true classics of Oklahoma, South Pacific. The King and I, etc. I took my 12 year old to the revivals in NYC and he loved it. Also, how about musicals with the words on the screen for a wonderful sing a long. Every age group loves that and it creates a great community bonding experience.

How about a change of the members of the EDC, Zoning & Planning Boards who have made a mess of route 9 in Manalapan. Knock the building down, put in a berm with trees and put a commuter parking lot behind it.

When are ypu going to pick up branches and sweep the streets. Once a year the street sweeper could be used. The streets look awful and public works does not care.
Oops, I guess according to the new garbage rules we take yard debris ourselves to the public works yard. Mr Green, you told us nothing would change and you lied.
