Manalapan Football Earns High Honors in Inaugural Athlon HS Football Preview

The Braves are ranked No. 9 in the state, and senior wide receiver Saeed Blacknall is the preseason Offensive Player of the Year.

The Manalapan High School football team is ranked No. 9 in the state, and senior wide receiver Saeed Blacknall is pegged as the preseason Offensive Player of the Year in Athlon Sports’ inaugural National High School Football Preview, released Tuesday.

The sports annual, which has released a National College Football Preview annually since 1995 and releases for all four major professional sports as well as Golf and NASCAR, ranked the Braves No. 9. The annual touted Manalapan’s strong offense, as well as a defense that returns nine starters and allowed 12 points per game last year.

Manalapan has played in back-to-back sectional finals, including last year’s inaugural Central Jersey Group V championship game.
